Day 23 and 24 - Tues. and Wed.

Day 23 - Tuesday We decided over our coffee that today might be the better day to go back to Yellowstone. Yesterday was the first day we have had no rain at all. We had a sunny day last week, but it rained that evening and night. Today was a mix of sun and clouds and rain/storms. We still had a great time. We saw Old Faithful erupt and took some photos inside the Old Faithful Inn. We’d have stayed for lunch but the hundreds of people who watched Old Faithful decided to eat there, too. We headed back to West Yellowstone to get a couple of things from the Yellowstone Outlet that are much cheaper there than in the park. We ate lunch there and continued the loop by the falls, the canyon area, along the Yellowstone River, Madison, etc. There are a lot of rivers in Yellowstone. It is a good thing Phil decided not to fish there because he would have a difficult time deciding on the one to fish! It looked pretty much like the only ones being fished were the ones warmed by the geyser basin. It amazes me how much variety one can see in one day of the landscapes. Also, we had barely gotten in Yellowstone when a moose and her very young baby walked across the road right in front of the car in front of us! I got a photo. It is not as good as one without the car in front of us, but it certainly is better than nothing. We felt so blessed! I also got a good photo of a trumpeter swan and a few lovely wildflowers. It was another great day.

Wed., Day 24 - We have decided to stay at the Madison Campground in Yellowstone for five nights and then stay three days at the Boise-Meridian KOA for three nights. We have 11 nights to get to Vancouver. It rained hard all night last night, but the sun is out and in today. We are expecting more rain this afternoon and night. Temps will be dropping with a low tomorrow night around 31. Brrrrrrrrrrrrrr!
